Management Distinction for Summer

Lingwood Security Management are proud to announce that CRM Manager Summer Jenkins has recently been awarded a Distinction in Operations and Department Management.

Summer completed the Operations and Department Management course with Equal Opportunities Training. The course is certified at Level 5, with Highfield as the awarding body. Level 5 is the equivalent of a Foundation Degree, and Summer’s achievement is the result of 18 months hard work and commitment.

The core modules of the course focus on standards relating to the management of a team, self-development, allocating work, supporting others, leading meetings, managing conflict, making decision and developing others.

Summer studied the course as part of her role in the business, with a view to progressing up the ladder into a more senior management position in the future.

It goes without saying that we are all very proud of Summer and the way she has applied herself to this course. We decided to ask her a few questions following her achievement.

What did you enjoy most about the course?

Learning different theories behind management and why different management techniques work best with different people. I have enjoyed getting together the work for my project portfolio and challenging myself with doing the presentation exam.

What are your key learning outcomes?

Taking a step back and looking at project management rather than rushing to get a project completed. I learned a lot about different techniques on how to problem solve and make decisions. A lot of techniques on managing behaviours and managing conflict.

Anything else you would like to add?

I am absolutely over the moon. I doubted myself to begin with, but now I am just so proud and looking forward to the next challenge!
