Family Business Growing from strength to strength
Lingwood Security Management are proud to celebrating 20 years as a limited company this week.
The past twenty years has been a period of constant growth for the company, increasing in both size and stature as time has gone by. The number of outstanding Security Guards employed by the company is now over 300, which is remarkable when thinking back to how it all started.
Founded by, Alan Lingwood Snr in 1995, the business steadily grew. In 1997 Alan Jnr joined the organisation. With sheer hard work and determination, the Directors built a strong team of Managers and Security Officers and the business flourished.
Over the next 18 years the team worked tirelessly together to build the business. The strong Management & Operations Team have been the backbone of the business and have shared every in every drawback and every success.
The Management Team have a wealth of experience and includes Ian Gourlay who joined the Company in 1996 and Thomas Docherty, who joined 10 years later in 2006.
In 2007 the Finance Team was expanded to include Alan Snrs wife, Company Secretary, Jo Lingwood and our Finance Manager, Heather Corcoran.
3 years later, in 2011 Alan Snrs daughter, Summer Jenkins consolidated the team.
Expansion again in 2018 brought in our exceptional HR & Recruitment Team, Lorette Smith & Lily Fegan.
And our team continues to grow as we are in the process of recruiting in our administration department and further support in our Operations Team.
Following the retirement of Alan Snr in 2018 the business was taken over by Alan Jnr and with his drive and tenacity the business has seen a 25 % growth within that 2 years.
Through sheer grit and determination, the team, now headed up by Alan Jnr have taken the business right across the UK and work in a variety of different sectors, specialising in Rail, Utilities and Construction. In recent years, the business has worked on several high-profile rail and utility contracts across the country.
Speaking about his twenty years in the business, Alan Lingwood, Managing Director, said:
“This is a proud day for both Dad and I. We set out with certain ambitions and hopes for the business when we changed into a Limited Company, so it is great to look back now and realise we have achieved far beyond what we originally hoped for. Of course, we couldn’t have done this without our team behind us.
I can proudly boast that we have the best Management Team and Security Officers in the business, and it is that fact that sets us apart from our competitors and ensures that we provide an outstanding service to our Clients.
I would like to say a huge Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the journey so far. I am very much looking forward to seeing what the next 20 years brings and where we can take the company next. We will be announcing some very exciting news in the coming weeks – So watch this space!”
