Women in Security: Celebrating Linda Owusuah’s Inspiring Journey

At Lingwood Security Management, we take immense pride in highlighting the incredible journeys of the women who play a vital role in our team. This month, we’re celebrating Linda Owusuah, whose career spans nearly two decades of dedication, resilience, and service.

From the Ghana Armed Forces to Lingwood Security

Linda joined Lingwood Security in June this year as a Travel Safety Officer on the Kent route, where she travels between Rainham and Blackfriars, supporting train and station staff to ensure safety and security for passengers. But her journey into security started long before she joined Lingwood.

Linda served in the Ghana Armed Forces for over 19 years, where she provided welfare and security services as an Operations Warrant Officer. Her roles included:

  • Welfare administration and supervision of daily activities
  • Deployment of troops
  • Serving as a radio operator, receiving and transmitting critical information between sub-stations

Linda’s service extended beyond Ghana. She participated in UN Peacekeeping Missions in Lebanon, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire during times of conflict, earning medals and certificates from the United Nations for her exceptional contributions.

In 2023, she was awarded a Certificate in Gender and Peace Support Operations by the Army Peace Operation School, recognised as the best female in Gender in Peace Support Operations—a testament to her leadership and dedication.

A Seamless Transition to Lingwood Security

After moving to the UK to join her family, Linda chose Lingwood Security as her second role in the security industry, finding a natural fit in her position as a Travel Safety Officer. Reflecting on her time at Lingwood, Linda shared:

“All my life, I’ve been in the security sector as an Army officer. Lingwood is my second job in this field, and I’m proud to be part of the team. I feel a deep sense of purpose in providing welfare to those in need, helping people, and protecting properties. The role I’m performing as a Travel Safety Officer is similar to my military duties due to the care and support we provide.”

Breaking Barriers and Leading by Example

Linda’s inspiring career highlights the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and representation in the security industry. Her experience not only enriches the Lingwood team but also reflects our commitment to empowering individuals with unique backgrounds and skill sets.

Celebrating Women in Security

We are proud to have Linda as part of our team and celebrate her exceptional contributions, from her service in the Ghana Armed Forces to her dedication at Lingwood Security. Her story is a powerful reminder of the strength, expertise, and compassion that women bring to the security sector.
