Director’s View: April 2019

Welcome to the April review of what’s been happening at Lingwood Security Management.

We commenced a new trespass and vandalism project for Network Rail which commenced 12th April and continued through to 28th. This a brand new project that Network Rail and the British Transport Police were rolling out to see how it worked and see what information they can collect.

Our role is to provide high visibility patrols to a specific area / route allocated by the clients to observe and secure.  We were tasked with calling the BTP on a daily basis to update the client on any findings or incidents that occurred.

All operatives deployed on to this project were PTS Trained (Personal Track Safety) to ensure they had the understanding of the railway environment.

We are due to have a close out meeting following this project, after which a full press release will be issued with further details.

From my own perspective, I saw it as a great opportunity for our operatives to fully test their observational and security skills on behalf of a national client. Working with the British Transport Police is a way of naturally aligning their security thought process with the legal framework associated with situations involving the railways. Well done to all involved.

Other new projects in April

Local door supervision

One thing that I’ve noticed just recently is that we are increasingly being asked to provide door supervisors to more venues throughout Morecambe, Lancaster and Preston.

We provided two door supervisors at Harrys Bar Morecambe Easter Sunday and received very positive feedback about both of the lads. Feedback received was that the staff were ‘friendly approachable and made everyone feel safe’. The sun was shining and the atmosphere was fantastic. I can testify this, as I took a walk down the promenade with my family, and called in to see how things were going.

As a result of this, we are advertising for Casual Door Supervisors throughout the summer for various events, clubs, pubs and festivals. For more information, please contact the office team.

Family Business

Summer Jenkins recently took part in a round-table discussion with Lancashire Business View, which was sponsored by JNW Solicitors, on the subject of ‘family business’.

Summer, who is our CRM Manager, said it was ‘great to meet other business owners and professionals who work with family businesses and to hear their advice and tips on how to protect the business, the wealth and to grow.’

Positive Feedback

I will finish with some positive feedback, as it makes the job so much more satisfying when I see these comments land on my desk, or in my inbox.

It’s always a pleasure to hear when things have gone well, as we strive on a daily basis to maintain and drive up standards across the business, and indeed the security industry as a whole.

Wishing you all a productive and prosperous May.
