Director’s View: February 2019

Welcome to a belated update on what’s been happening at Lingwood Security Management during February.

February was a busy month once again, with several new projects commencing across the country. The photo below shows one of our new sites opened for Balfour Beatty Power Division. This project is required to have SHEA Power or BESC accredited guards, due to the nature of the work being carried out.

New projects commenced in February:

Void Property Inspections

One of the services we offer as a business is to carry out Void Property Inspections (VPIS). We complete internal patrols for properties that are empty, to ensure nothing untoward has happened and that everything is secure. The image below shows our vehicle out and about carrying out VPIS.

Network Rail Site Visits

I like to make time to get out of the office and onto our sites whenever I can. This month I carried out site visits to Network Rail projects, such as in the image below. This particular project requires our guards to hold their PTS (Personal Track Safety ) Qualification. Here at Lingwood Security Management, we have yearly audits to ensure we are compliant to work on rail project (called RISQ).

CCTV & Alarm Response

We recently met for coffee with the Security Advisor for one of our clients Balfour Beatty to discuss upcoming projects, which resulted in us winning a project covering the CCTV at one of their sites in Wokingham. We are providing four CCTV Tower Systems and an Alarm Response service. Just goes to show what can be achieved during a refreshing break!

Summer Visits

This month, our CRM Manager Summer Jenkins has been out and about, meeting Site Managers for Network Rail, who are more than happy with the service being provided. This is something I will be encouraging more of going forwards, to develop and foster stronger relationships across our client base.

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) Event

Last week, I attended the Rail Infrastructure Networking event in London which I found very useful. It was a great opportunity to network and gain contacts in the rail industry. I made contacts with numerous companies including Shannon Rail, Torrent Trackside , TXM Rail and many more.

Positive Feedback

This month I was delighted to receive a message from Andrew Watton, NG Contract Co-ordinator for Chubb Systems Limited, saying he had received positive feedback in two separate instances for work we have carried out, and to thank us for our prompt and professional response.

It’s always a pleasure to hear when things have gone well, as we strive on a daily basis to maintain and drive up standards across the business, and indeed the security industry as a whole.

Wishing you all a productive and prosperous March.

Alan
