East to West – Rail Security Project
23rd April 2015
Lingwood Security Management have just commenced a new rail security project with UK Power Networks (UKPN).
Starting in Reading, the project will run through Oxford right across to South Wales, travelling gradually West over the scheduled three-year period.
Last week, our Security Manager, Adam Ross, surveyed the sites involved and got the first three of them up and running using our existing team of security staff. He is now focused on recruiting local additional guards to boost capacity as the project moves across the country.
The project initially involves static guards providing security 24 hours per day, seven day a week and will expand to include additional mobile patrols.
The scope of the work being carried out is the full electrification of the Western Wales Network Rail route hence the need for Lingwood Security Management to provide a high profile security presence for the duration of the project.
Speaking at the start of the project, Security Manager, Adam Ross, said: ‘Having joined the company in February, I’ve been heavily involved in this project from day one and am looking forward to seeing it roll out over the next three years. It’s going to be very busy and technically testing to control, but luckily I thrive on a challenge and am very keen to get started!’
