Fastflow Energy Services Partnership

Project Name: UK Wide Security for Fastflow Energy Services

Lingwood Security Management are now in partnership with Fastflow Energy Services to provide Security at various sites throughout the UK.

Fastflow Energy Services (FES) is a UK gas and oil transmission engineering specialist. They operate across the UK with a workforce of over 180 and have over forty years experience working on the gas National Transmission System (NTS).

FES have successfully completed over 100 major projects including: bio gas connections (new generation capacity); river, motorway and rail crossings; and provision of automated intuitive security systems to help protect critical national infrastructure.

Lingwood Security are currently proving security on a project in Scotland across multiple sites. Services include providing static guards, incident response and support with all other aspects of site security to ensure the safe delivery of the project and the security of all equipment and valuables located at the various sites.

Our supervisors will be doing regular site visits across both day and night shifts, and we will be utilising our new CRM system to complete welfare checks for all employees, receive feedback from site managers and to ensure all employees are in full PPE.

Facts about the NTS

  • National infrastructure that was built in the 1970’s and 1980’s now requires substantial maintenance and replacement and the team at FES are busy across the UK delivering a wide range of engineering projects.
  • National Grid owns and operates the NTS which carries gas around 7600km network of pipelines at high, intermediate and medium pressures
  • Connections to third party independent systems and eight distribution networks are linked to the network
  • Gas enters the system via the seven UK gas terminals (six in England and one in Scotland) and various storage facilities. These include a mixture of salt cavity and LNG storage sites (onshore) and the depleted oil field at Rough (offshore in the North Sea)
  • Pressure regulation is enabled by a myriad of complex mechanical and electrical engineering installations, for example compression and pressure reduction stations
  • National Grid estimates that by 2021 an additional 803 km of pipeline, and 39 new compressor units will be added to the system.

Speaking at the launch of the security partnership, Director Alan Lingwood said the following.

“This is another great opportunity for us in a highly competitive sector of the security industry. We are proud to be working with Fastflow to support their delivery of this crucial management and maintenance of the gas network.”

Alan Lingwood, Director, Lingwood Security Management.
