CASE STUDY

Western Link HVDC Cable Installation

Project Name: Multi-site Security for J. Murphy

This week marks the end of a huge security project for Lingwood Security Management which has been in operation for the last two and a half years.

The project was carried out on behalf of one our long standing clients, J. Murphy, and involved 31km underground installation of 125mm high-voltage direct current (HVDC) in Wirral.

Security cover commenced in July 2015 and has involved over 100 members of staff at various times. At one stage of the project, we were simultaneously providing security cover for 44 different sites, so there was strong logistical element to the successful delivery of this security operation.

There was a specific requirement that all security operatives hold a current CSCS Card, have undertaken a recent drug and alcohol test and a fit to work medical in order for them to work on this project. Our HR team ensured that this was always the case.

We would like to thank Murphy’s for the opportunity to work on this project, and also express our thanks to Ingeus and Remploy for their assistance with the recruitment of additional operatives at the beginning of the project.

Further information about the specific details of the project can be found here: http://www.murphygroup.co.uk/projects/western-link-hvdc/

Speaking at the closure of the project, Director Alan Lingwood said the following.

“My thanks go out to all the staff who contributed to this successful project. There were a great many people involved at all different levels with different responsibilities, running multiple sites within the same project. The fact that it all came together so smoothly is a testament to the solid structure of our organisation. Once again it was a pleasure to work with J.Murphy and we hope to continue to do so in the future.”
